out again

Cool, bright sun, long shadows. A woman on a bench says “You’ve got to make the most of it.” A 2 year old in lilac dress, matching strappy handbag and sunglasses delights in a big black dog. The Church of Jesus and his Latter Day Saints are out in force with bin bags and Jesus tabards picking up litter while a passing baby in a woolly bonnet beams regally from her buggy, dogs and children tumble down the tipping hill.

Chur of magpies, a distant ice cream van. After the static of too much work, I tune into the park again.

new sunday

Posted by Picasa

The city wears a new open face after the rain. Minnie-the part-time-dog sniffs and noses out the doggy news, skitters after squirrels, savages her squeaking ball. At the gate, bad lads lope, while their akitas strain and growl.

wetscape

Chinese watercolour sort of day - the city towers disappear in the grey. A lone crow picking at the grass. A sign, pointing to the childrens' playground and the bowling green, ghosts out of the wet.

september song

A man under a huge orange flowery umbrella says "It's a bit wet" then a dog with a curly coat like a Ripple bar bounds up, shakes itself, panting hard. Rain plots on my hood, faraway traffic swishes. Posted by Picasa

afternoon

Top of the park, late afternoon, deep shadows on the slopes. In the spreadeagling valley, churn of traffic, siren calls weee weep weee. Teenagers falling silly down the hill. The world's sky arches fluffy above the tree line.
